Air Layering

Do you practice air layering or are you interested in trying it? Here's a little teaser to start this discussion:

I've tried it a few times, but only with currants and such plants...

Re: Air Layering

I have done several air layers but found that the plastic lets too much sun in.
That may not be a problem in colder climates but here in Florida the moss got way too hot.
Therefore I have gone back to the aluminum foil. Some say the birds pick at it but so far that hasn't been a problem. Good diagram Richard!

Richard great idea!
I wonder if you can do this with orchids
or any other symbiotic/companion plants
you can grow/tie down on trunks of shaded
palms and ferns for that tropical landscaping look?

Great thread!:bananas_b

Thanx!
