Um...you can peel em and freeze them for later use. It works very well. Great for using later for banana bread or something. Just a thought.

The smoothies that I make are very similar to the burritos that I make: they have in them whatever I have at hand... Here is a skeleton of the recipe, for standard size blender..if you have a vita mix..even better and I am jealous: +- 1/2 small pineapple (1/2 can.. 5 rings) 1 yogurt ( 6-8 oz) of any flavor. Blueberry usually adds just the right twist.. 1-1 1/2 ripe bananas (they can be fresh or already peeled and frozen) fruit*** Add fruit until blender about 3/4 full. 1 tsp vanilla (or more if artificial vanilla) juice... any fruit juice..just enough so that the solids will blend and have proper consistency. 5-6 ice cubes...or as many as needed for consistency. The more frozen fruit used the less ice needed. blend until smooth... enjoy! makes enough for a nice noontime dessert for mom, dad, and a couple kids. *** for the fruit you can add absolutely any kind: peaches, apricots, cherries, strawberries, raspberries, cantaloupe, honeydew melon, ....any fruit you have. I have used about all fruits common in the US. Some are much better than others and some mix better with others. A bit of honeydew, mixed with peaches and strawberries, is great...but I considered watermelon a flop... I have used a lot of fresh fruits but more often use frozen, as my family likes their smoothies 'frozen' and thick, and the more frozen fruit used the less ice needed. It is often easiest to purchase bags for mixed fruit in the frozen aisle at the grocery, and most of the mixes they put together work well. .............. as I said, it is a skeleton recipe. You add to it, take from it, change it, etc. I have found that due to all the fruit extra sweeteners are seldom if ever needed. I usually follow the same thing and just change which fruits and juices I use.. ................................. I also stated that I seldom make smoothies or shakes with just one fruit. However, when I lived in Chile, we commonly drank leche con platano (banana milk) It was basically just banana blended into milk. It had a very thin consistency, more like milk than like a shake. The colder it is the better it is. good luck aaron |

Browndrake:
Thanks for the recipe. Oh, yeah, Vita Mix is the name. I have it for a long time-4 yrs I think I forgot the name. Anyway, I'll try the banana with milk. As always, like you, I just used about everything you mentioned and some are great tasting than others. I even add milk and ice cream on many occasions. Just anything I have in the fridge or fruits about to overripe on the counter tops. And like you said watermelon is a flop but it is good if you blend it alone and use it as a drink instead of getting it overripe and thrown it away. I also found out putting more than half of a banana in the container overcomes any other fruit tastes so I am careful not to add too much bananas in my smoothies. My kids' favorite is lots of strawberries, half a banana 1/2 cup of grapes 1 peeled orange a cup of vanilla ice cream , fresh milk and yogurt. I never learn to try to use tomatoes or carrots to be use as a drink.

Yes. I think it is worth the price considering it is guaranteed not to break in 7 years. But I never watch the video how to use it. Is it worthwhile?
