I saw this recipe on TV and have made it lots of times. Now everyone begs me to make it. It's really good with homegrown bananas!
2 bags Pepperidge Farm Chessmen cookies 8 bananas, sliced 2 cups milk 1 (5-ounce) box instant French vanilla pudding 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk 1 (12-ounce) container Cool Whip Line the bottom of a 13 x 9 casserole dish with 1 bag of cookies and slice bananas on top. In a bowl, combine the milk and pudding mix and blend well. In another bowl, combine the cream cheese and condensed milk together and mix until smooth. Fold the whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture. Add the cream cheese mixture to the pudding mixture and stir until well blended. Pour the mixture over the cookies and bananas and cover with the remaining cookies. Refrigerate overnight. |

I'm very late in replying here, but I'm glad you liked the recipe! I can't find Pepperidge Farm chessman cookies here in Costa Rica so I am looking for another shortbread cookie alternative. And I've never seen Cool Whip in any of the grocery stores in my town, so I will have to make whipped cream from scratch for that part of the recipe. I gotta remember to make this the next time we have a big bunch of bananas ripening!

Well Jeff I'd trade you a bag of Chessman cookies for a couple tasty, homegrown bananas but in all honesty I think any good shortbread cookie will do! It's really yummy pudding.
