Subscription Problem
About a month ago I started getting subscriptions to threads I have never posted on or had posted on and have already removed the subscription in the user cp. Any ideas?
As an example, several days ago, I posted on Patty's vacation thread and later received an email notification that someone else posted on said thread. I went to my user cp and clicked on the unsubscibe button and verified it was removed. Tonight I get another email and I go to my user cp and sure enough I am subscribed again. Dave

Hi Dave, I have not heard of that happening before...
I did just check the database and you were definately subscribed to that thread. So I just deleted the subscription for you from that thread only. Please let me know if you magically get subscribed to it again... that's really odd if its true because I cant imagine how that would happen. Please let me know if you want any other subscriptions removed. Regards, Jarred

Yes, you do have many subscribed threads in fact.
But what you probably see in your user cp when you go to look is this: "New Subscribed Threads: (0) There are no subscribed threads to display in this folder for this time period." That just means your subscribed threads have not gotten recent activity. However, below that is a link that says "View all Subscribed Threads". Click that and you'll see the list. Then you can unsubscribe from them or change your notification settings, etc, by clicking the box next to each thread and selecting the option you want in the dropdown below them. Does this perhaps solve the mystery?

You were right, I was in the new folder.
If I forget to check the box when I post, I have always gone back and deleted a subscription in the new folder. Since I am on here every day, I am surprised that so many slipped past me and ended up in the other folder. Thanks for the help Jarred Dave

My problem is that sometimes I don't get any email notificaion at all, even though I am subscribed to the thread.
 Also... Today I noticed every one of my pics has now turned into a link instead of a nice glossy shot! Please don't tell me this is the way it will be now...you have to click a link to see the pic?!  I sure hope not... : ) |

Hi Sherry, I'm not noticing anything of the sort... please PM any more info and we can troubleshoot. Sounds like you are blocking images from the site. You might want to check your browser settings or any plugins you may be using.

That was very weird, but all seems to be well now. All the avatars and pics on the site had disappeared and I assumed it was part of the changes. Never had that happen before but glad things are back to normal.
 As for the notification problem in subscribed threads...I'm going to check my settings... Thanks Jarred. I'll let you know in pm if I have anymore troubles. Hopefully not because I never have before. : ) |
