POLL - keep or ditch the "members who have read this thread"

You know how at the bottom of each thread it shows the members that have read the thread and when you hold your mouse over it, it shows when they last viewed it.
Well, what is the concensus about this? Should we keep it the way it is with it there or should we remove it?
I will let this poll run for a while to gather as many votes as possible, and then reevaluate the situation.
The poll is private; when you vote, nobody else sees what you voted for.

If it will make things easier for you, get rid of it. Not much purpose to it really. I'd vote to get rid of it, but i don't want to vote "hate it" as it says. I don't hate anything about this site, I think it's great that someone has put so much work into making a great site for nanaheads. Thanx!!!

My honest opinion as to why I like it is because if I have started a thread and see who has viewed it, I am able to discuss it with them on an individual basis about the topic, via pm. I personally like the feature, but I can live without it.
BTW, how do I cast a vote...

I find it very useful. But if it will degrade the server performance, I would not regret removing it.

I think its good. Ive seen from others reading the post, that they are as interested in everything abt nanana as iam. Even the most seasoned gardener has something to learn! Its nice to see some from other gardening sites also. Just my 2cents

You can vote by ticking one of the circles next to the three options, then clicking the vote now button below the box with the three options.

The reason I casted the poll is not because of server performance, it's barely a blip on the server to have this, but rather because sometimes people may post a thread with questions and they see a bunch of people are viewing the thread but not answering their question or replying.
Sometimes people dont have the time to post or sometimes they dont know the best answer, so they don't reply. I just wanted to get a feel of the concensus. The poll is still running so feel free to vote if you haven't.

I see your point Jarred, I have been frustrated by that very thing.

But I also like to see who read it to maybe PM and ask more specific questions.

I was going to vote to keep it, but now I'm ambivalent!

Hello all!
I read many post for the information and knowledge contained in them and there are many times when I feel I do not know enough to make a relevant comment or I have nothing additional or new to share so I post nothing to the item after having read it. I enjoy reading all the useful information I see here every day and if it is a useful tool for others I say keep it. Philip

Boy, I didn't see this poll until a few months ago and figured it wasn't worth voting then since it was too old. Since it has come back to life, I voted that I like it for some of the reasons indicated above. Sometimes I will send Joe an e-mail if I've read something and see that he hasn't read it yet.

I like looking at the bottom of the page of a thread that has been read by almost every member, and saying wow there really is alot of people into bananas. Like on the "Time to put bananas a sleep for the winter" thread.
