New Posts

Is there a way that New Posts will only show posts we haven't seen the latest on yet? This happens OK the firs time, but if I come back later to the site without signing off it gives me the same posts again!

Thanks!!

Hey Howard, I think the only way is to click on the "view first unread" above the posters name when it comes up.

When you've finished reading all the threads you are interested in, go to "Quick Links" and select "Mark Forums Read".

Re: New Posts

My best advice is to click on the 'New Posts' when you first sign on....look through all the threads/posts you want to. Then just keep clicking 'New Posts' whenever you want to look for new stuff to read. The threads in which you've recently read all the posts will show up as non-bold and threads with new posts since you've viewed them will be BOLD in the list. Newest material is always at the top. Hope this helps.

And the 'View First Unread' is a great feature to use, but if you've already looked at a thread once, it still takes you to the first unread since you signed in.

I've never tried that 'Mark Forums Read' feature...that might be even better than my suggestion....I'll have to try it sometime!

What we really need (for the true bananas.org addicts) is a 'Live Feed' feature that constantly updates and shows a clip-it of every new post as they are posted. That way if you want, you can just sit there and wait for new posts and find them immediately. We had it on another site I'm active on and I REALLY liked it and used it all the time!
