Why are some people on this forum listed as "Junior" or "Senior" members? What does that mean? At first I figured a "Junior Member" was a teenager but that's obviously not the case, so I guess "Senior Member" doesn't mean old fart either!

As mods/admin, I sure wish y'all would require people to state their location or at least their zone before they are allowed to post. Seems ridiculous that they ask questions and the first person to reply has to ask "Where are you?" before an appropriate answer can be given. Sorry, this is a pet peev of mine. And please don't give me that "privacy" BS, there are ways around that here.

Any member can change their custom user title that you are referring to. Currently it is blank when someone registers for an account.
A long time ago, we had a system where depending on your post count, you would have that title filled in with either Junior, Senior, or some other ones. But we did away with that system, however those members who had one of those titles assigned to them were left that way. So it really does not mean much, its just related to their post count but it wont automatically change anymore anyway, as its been phased out.

As for requiring people to state their location, its a personal preference and we encourage it - as you know, there are several places on the site where you can fill that information, such as your Location field in your Options, your Zone in your Options, your location on the Member Map, as well as the ability to tag the maps in the wiki with your location if you grow the respective plant, etc.

As for not putting helpful/useful info into posts when you ask a question reminds me of this oldie but goodie, right at about 1:00 in:
