Summers arrived in the UK

Summer, (well at least spring) is here in the UK............... Yipee !!! :woohoonaner:

Not sure about the rest of you in the UK but today here in Orpington was absolutley fantastic !!!

TIMETABLE :
09:00 - Read Papers (In Bed)
10:00 - Finished breakfast & "odd chores" and was out in the garden by 10:30
10:30 - 12:30 Cleared 2 flowers beds, scarified lawn (electric), trimmed large bushes
12:30 - Egg sandwiche (on patio)
12:45 - 14:30. Cleared more beds, cut back more bushes, weeded, sowed some Castor Oil Plants
14:30 - Had enough so got out sun lounger, had a beer, listened to iPOD and the rest is a blank.
16:00 - In trouble with wife as she informs me that I was (aparently) snoring - as if and that the neighbours were out and could all hear me.
16:00 - Galvanised back into action and did a bit more tidying up in the garden.
17:30 - Came in and checked for emails and typing this (keeping my head down as I can "smell the roast cooking - reday at 18:30)

First "real" day of this season - Summer has truly arrived

Yep we had a cracking day in Windsor too! I was out in the garden from 11am til 6.30pm Half hour lunch break (no beer it sends me to sleep:ha:)

Cut down all last years Miscanthus Gigantia, Raked up loads of leaves, Cut back the sikki stem to live material and the maurelii's plus loads more. Only half done but I enjoyed the day..............Going to soak my aching bones now.

Re: Summers arrived in the UK

Got a place over in Spain (near Jerez) and going over there next week. Looked at the weather and its even better over there than here - 68 - 71 degree's. Although I need it, the last 2 occasions I went over there it was brilliant during the day but absolutely freezing (Capitol F) of a night - from about 5pm onwards.
Ironic thing was when we bought the place it had a number of small Musa Basjoo's growing wild (!!) in the lawn, but then about 3 years ago there was a really heavy frost and it killed them all. Bought some young ones on Ebay planted them and they died too - my ones in the UK were much, much better.
Will take some photos of what has survived the past winter next week.
