Well my computer has been down for a while and I come back to find one of the only other Cigar smoking banana grower that I have written to gone. Life writing on this board will not be quite the same without you Tog. You always had me jealous of the different plants you were able to collect just be walking in the woods. Sorry we never got to exchange cigars. Stephanie it would be great if you could check in with us from time to time with any new pics you find, as your father will surely be missed.

Howard and Harvey - you are very welcome and good growing!!! I was sitting in a disreputable little bar yesterday (as you do) with Barb and Lyndon who were both smoking huge Churchills - and I had a little smile to myself as I watched them puffing away!

Taylor - everything in good time! Grieve for your Grandfather first, and when the time is right, choose and plant a banana for him. There is no rush - he will understand and know you loved him.

Lorax - as usual you have surpassed yourself - good going girl!!

Whan I saw Harveys picture I couldnt resist myself and I think that this is a right place for this foto in Togs honor .
As Harvey say, he was the best person here to tell us a bit about spicie

Anyway my kids love it and calls him just "dragon".

Maybe it is Togs influence?
Im starting to worry

I'm new and never got to know Tog Tan but I deffinately know the pain that comes with lossing somebody who cared about others. I can only send my depest regards to the famaly and friends that had the opportunity to know such a fine person. I can deeply say this with sincerity cause my father had passed away on June 2nd. I believe Tog Tan and fellow Banana's wanted to keep post going about Palms and so would I.
Best wishes and my deepest regards to all.

Hi everybody,

Now that dad's house would be returned in 2 days and the mess has been cleared, I just thought I'd share our experience of cleaning his house.. Here are some pictures..

His Model Kits BEFORE we had a weekend clearance sale

There are so much because he used to be a judge and master builder for the local hobby shops.

.. n this is what was left after the sale,
[IMG][/IMG]

THIS, is what we had to go through when we first started. I completely forgot to take a picture of the porch filled with plants! =(

As for the picture Beth asked for, his PC his currently sitting next to me. I haven't had the time to go through it yet. FYI, there are almost 500+ folders of pictures in there after I deleted the duplicates n unnecessary stuff (there were almost 2000 folders of pix earlier). I just hope you don't need it right away! I'll get it to you at most 1 week later. Do remind me if I forget!

PS: Imageshack was driving me up d wall, I had to resolve to other hosts..

Stephanie, if it's of any help, I believe that photo we want for the cover was taken between last December and this February.

I think I need to do a lot more collecting of stuff to leave something like that for my son to clean up. I had to change dirty diapers so it's only fair to leave a mess behind for him as well. :P

Stefanie, I saw the link you posted of your Dad's models - alone, & I say hats off to you girl! It makes us (at least me) realize we can go at any time & what will we leave behind for someone else to take care of? I have lots!!!
I love when you post...makes me feel like Tog is still around
May I ask, what are you doing with all of his many, many plants? Are they selling well?

I certainly wish I had joined this group a whole lot sooner, I would have loved to talk with your Dad, just about life in general. All those models, and his plant knowledge, in the threads I have read, a great personality was in there too. Stephanie, I had the same sort of issue when my Mom passed and though its a lot of work, a person can find out some interesting things in what is left behind. I too am starting to give things to my kids that they want and getting rid of excess stuff, cause we just never know! Bless you, your Dad would be proud of what you have accomplished.

Harveyc,
Yeahh! I bet my dad was thinking the same! Haha You should leave more for your kids, may I suggest toys n comics? Haha.. They're worth a whole lot if kept in good condition. Maybe it would be good to make them work for the cash. At this point, I'm glued to ebay while asking myself why didn't he take good care of his toys and comics, otherwise I'm sucha happy girl right now! I'm like 'rich' toy-wise but my account is still pretty much starving Haha.. I still cant get over the fact that a plain plastic lookin ghostbuster toy car is worth usd140! *faints* But mine is in crappy condition.

I'll try to get the picture asap as I will be away for the weekend and assignments are starting to pile up..

.. n damn, I just so wishhhhh he took good care of his stuff. He left boxes after boxes of comics and they weren't nicely taken care of. One of them, if in mint condition is worth usd17,995!!! But sadly, it's not even in it's plastic case! INCREDIBLE HULK 181 CGC 9.8 * 1ST WOLVERINE APPEARANCE! - eBay (item 250473276922 end time Aug-06-09 19:00:27 PDT)

Patty, Thank you, and I sure am wondering how my cousins are gonna cope when this happens to them. I was told my uncles have the same habit of collecting everything and anything! Hahaha

His plants were taken to his nursery, I'm not completely sure what's happening to them as my aunt will be taking care of them. I've got my hands full with his cigars, comics, toys and model kits, which are already driving me insane. I haven't gotten down to categorizing anything, just scanned through them roughly..
