Happy Thanksgiving, America!
But not until Thursday, November 25th!
Now you can all make me jealous and tell me what your plans are, and what you're cooking...and what you're grateful for? I'd love to see a shot of someone's turkey... Quote:

Re: Happy Thanksgiving, America!
I'm jealous that a lot of people will be eating turkey without me in a couple days! Any chance to be sent a doggy bag?

Re: Happy Thanksgiving, America!
Saw something in the newspaper today, where a typical Thanksgiving dinner is 3500 calories!
Hey, HB Lady, do you guys also eat turkey for your October TDay? I rermember, one time when I was in school in the Fargo, ND area, we went to Winnipeg, on Canadian TDay, but I can't remember what they ate. |

Re: Happy Thanksgiving, America!
Oh yes John, we definitely eat turkey...and lots of it too!
Some people will make ham or roast beef but it's traditional to make turkey at Thanksgiving, Easter, & Christmas, in Canada. We're really not that much different than you guys. Sure hope you have a good one, John. I suppose you'll be having turkey, will you? 3500 calories?!!! That's like three days worth of food intake for me! : o Good thing we don't eat it everyday or I'd be as fat as the turkey! Can't wait to hear about all the great things you guys are eating and doing... : ) |

Re: Happy Thanksgiving, America!
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! It's 77degrees in Houston at 9:30 in the morning and supposed to be 80 or so for the high today. I just wrapped my 'Ice Cream' and 'Dwarf Brazilian' fruit this morning in case it gets as cold as predicted here Friday night (34 degrees). I'm headed out of town and didn't want to take the chance. Everyone be safe if you are traveling!

Re: Happy Thanksgiving, America!
I made one of the deserts, PEANUT BUTTER BALLS!
I love ramen noodles, but I actually had some chili today. That's all I had though, chili and then like 10 peanut butter balls I didn't really care what my family had so I can't remember exactly all of it. I know my mom made stuffing, and then they had turkey (I think) and stuff like that. Some pies, but I don't like that kind of stuff. Happy Thanksgiving everyone

Re: Happy Thanksgiving, America!
What your parents ate, Jordan, is the stuff I love...although those peanut butter balls looked delicious when you showed them. Yummy.
I think I might have to make some of those for Christmas so thanks for including the recipe. : ) |

Re: Happy Thanksgiving, America!
I was too busy playing with my ipod and in deep thought, which has been common for the last while.
My mom has many, many other recipes if you all would want some more Like pumpkin bread, banana bread, chicken, and a few others.

Re: Happy Thanksgiving, America!
Do you have a recipe for a peanut butter ball turkey?!
It's where you stuff the turkey with peanut butter and then dunk it in pure milk chocolate?! Ever heard of it? Me neither. So yeah, I'll let you know when I need a recipe for anything. Right now I have a gazillion cookbooks. Looks like Janan had quite the dinner too. I admit I'm jealous. : ) |

Re: Happy Thanksgiving, America!
At one family dinner, we had 2 turkeys (roasted and grilled), lamb stew, 3 types of sweet potato dishes, deep fried corn balls, stuffing, homemade cranberry sauce (my specialty), a jalapeno cranberry relish, a spicy stuffing, salad, muffins, etc. At another family dinner, a turkey and a ham, mashed and sweet potatoes, stuffing, broccoli salad, rolls, asparagus in a Thai peanut sauce, and 2 pies. Needless to say, I'm stuffed, and I declined to go to a 3rd dinner feast!

Re: Happy Thanksgiving, America!
Jalapeno Cranberry relish?! Omg that sounds amazing! Is that homemade or store-bought?
Peanut sauce too, sounds wonderful also. Broccoli is one of my favorites and that salad was delicious I bet. You people really know how to eat! Glad it was a good one for ya Howard. : ) |
