Every plant had been severely frozen in a few consecutive hard frosts.
Containers were almost solid in the 26 degree cold .
So a small setback for every plant........but some are showing life

Not a good year to force a plant to go hydro.

However the weather beaten plants have shown signs of life from the corm.
Local plants were sprouting on second and third year growth.
Yep...... plants had to dig deep to grow.

The freeze was brutal for tropicals and local plants and trees alike.

A plant from a previous year....

Smile Re: Dwarf Red

Here is the dwarf red that was going to be hydroponic grow for the 2020 season.
The plant was exposed to a few hard freezes and never recovered.
So ....I used the plant for another fantastic opportunity.
The plant regrew with a triple growth out of a single corm....but was culled back to twins.

With a little imagination and 20 bucks forum members can enjoy a terrarium indoors year round.
The internet offers many great takeaways to get you started.
Terrariums when maintained will last your gardening lifetime.....really.

The plant is in a Wardian case under lights

Before planting in the habitat.
The plant recovered in a quart container and did remarkably well.

Many plants including Dwarf red adapt to different growing conditions.
The container plant in photo was partially submerged.
Notice the great root structure.
