Hey Gang!
I have an Ae Ae indoors upstairs in a bathroom since the first of December with no Spider Mites. In the garage I have E. Ventricosum, E. Maurelii and some kind of dwarf banana I know not the name with no Spider Mites; in addition to the 30- 40 Alocasias, Colocasias and Philodendrons. Along with all these guys, I have two Ceramic heaters in there with them. Temp at 70f. The Key to no Spider Mites in MHO, is the constant misting I do as stated previously by other members. As Sherry said; "The trick is to spray and mist your plants regularly". In whatever way you choose, consistency is the key. Its great that we can give each other advise on how we get things to work for us as individuals. Keep on planting, Drew |

Nice pics Sherry, I've been contemplating SR or Ensete Maurelii, I guess I'll get one of each. I've got two Basjoos and two Musellas bare rooted in a bucket underneath the stairwell in the basement they over wintered nicely. Thanks again for the pics.

ensete maurelii is usually easier for most to grow. And definitely easier to overwinter, as long as you watch out for spider mites. It's one we don't lose storing in a basement bare rooted even.

Would absolutely agree that water works best. I used to use all sorts of mixes to get rid of RSM. These days i just mist with water at least 3 times a day. I have cavendish, Little Prince, Siam ruby, Lasciocarpa, e.ventricosum, and e.Maurelli pups all crowded together on a heat mat indoors and not a sign of rsm all winter.
