![]() Hello Ornamental Banana Lovers~!
After 4 years of trying...SUCCESS!!! A PINK BANANA FLOWER!!! I ordered 2 lovely M. Dasycarpa(Velutina) from Plant Delights Nursery this Spring. I received (2) 12-14" healthy specimens. I put one in the ground & one in a large pot. This is the one in the ground. :-D SO EXCITED!!! Will be doing my best to document day to day growth on this Beauty!!! Thank you for joining me on this journey!!! ![]()

![]() Congrats! I was sorry not to be able to share a pup from mine when you came down that time...but you saw how mine was doing. The drought finally did it in last year but I have another one going now, thanks to a friend. The bananas on mine would never stay pink long. I had it close to a brick wall and I think the radiant heat from the wall may have had something to do with it. Hopefully yours will stay looking nice longer for you!

![]() Very nice! My Velutina flowered last summer making it the first banana of mine to ever bloom! Unfortunately mine didnt survive the winter, I guess it was too young to handle that kind of cold even though it was a mild winter.
