![]() Color really beautiful, I even itself didn't expect the such. I will hope that the big clump of this type will grow and will be so beautifully to blossom. And nearby clump Musa Violacea increases, should begin flowering in the spring.
Today has made some more pictures.

![]() Beautiful!
I hope mine will flower someday. I have a M. Ornata 'Royal Burgandy' that I got from Brian's Tropicals four years ago. The following Winter, it looked as if it died. It showed no signs of life the following Spring and Summer. Then the following year, I was cleaning the pot it was in, and saw that the rhizome was still firm and fleshy. Out of curiosity, I replanted it in another pot and just watered it regularly. After a few weeks, it produced a green spike. Last Summer it grew to about 3 feet. Then 4 weeks ago, during a cold spell, all the leaves turned brown, though the p-stem looks OK. I brought it with me to my temporary home in Richland, WA, where I work during the week. It's in my living room there with my other bananas and plants. The freeze also ruined my Dwarf Ambarella which had just recovered from the previous Winter's cold snap. Thanks for posting the pictures. |

![]() All hello! Here updating of pictures.
05.11.2011 These are fruits Musa Ornata 'Royal Purple' pollinated by pollen Musa sikkimensis. On fruit it is visible that they more mumpish. I think pollination have passed successfully.

![]() Beautiful! My lavendar is blooming beautifully. If you look in my member gallery you will see it. The sad part is that tonight we are getting down to the 20s so it will probably be hit pretty hard. The kids and I are going to prepare and finish framing our greenhouse, but I doubt I'll have time to dig things up so only potted will make it in there

![]() Pretty sure all bananas are monocarpic meaning they fruit and then that pseudostem dies. Other plants from the main corm will take the place of the main plant.
Someone correct me if this is not right.
