Musa Ornata Bloom!!!
All hello! Has started to blossom Musa ornata. Till the moment of flowering I didn't know that it for a version. Has bought these seeds as Musa acuminata ' Zebrina ', and they have appeared Musa ornata. Here pictures:

Hi Raules, Your musa ornata are stunning ! Did you brought seeds from rarepalmseeds.com ??? Like you, I had brought shiny black seeds labelled as musa siamensis 2 & 3 years ago, from rarepalmseeds.com, but these plants turned to been musa ornata, with my one musa siamensis had produced the pink flower, so I studied the flowers & leaves and realised all seeds of musa siamensis I brought were all musa ornata. All hello! A plant in height of one meter, fifty centimeters. To it about two years. Without pollination, fruits fall down. Seeds bought in our Russian shop. I will hold all in updating.

This looks very much like the banana which I acquired recently in Vietnam (See: http://www.bananas.org/f2/i-think-i-...oup-13386.html) and which was here tentatively identified as Musa Ornata. My questions are, How high is the tip of the flower? And how long did it take from pup to flower? The ones I saw (3), were all under 1.2 m from ground to flower tip. I looked up Irkutsk and am quite amazed, that on the 52nd Parallel in the middle of the continent you still are in a 8 hardiness zone. I would have expected much harsher winters, just by looking at the map :) Best, Olaf |

Hi Olaf! A plant in height of 1,50 m. The plant from a seed, to it about 2th years grows. Before landing in a ground, it grew in a pot, approximately 1,5 years. A beautiful version. Olaf, you correctly thought. At us sharp and cold winters. There is a temperature falls to-40 degrees and more low. A greenhouse with heating. During winter time temperature in it of +12+15 degrees. Plants feel very well. Ken, most likely seeds won't be, I this time didn't make pollination. Best regards all!:birthdaynana:

All hello! One more here starts to blossom Musa Ornata. It pseudostem about 1,2 meters. 30 liters grow in a pot. Olaf, other bananas growing with a blossoming plant it too Musa ornata. I will try to make pollination of the second plant. The first plant most likely will make fruit without seeds, I didn't pollinate them.

All hello! The first plant has finished the flowering, the second now blossoms.
Houses, in the container, too has blossomed Musa ornata. It in height somewhere 1 meter of 30 centimeters. This year Musa ornata shows a record on flowering. :goteam::goteam::goteam: |

I just wanted to say BEAUTIFUL photos! Your greenhouse is lovely I'm envious! I have had my bronze orinata's bloom, but none of my lavender yet! Hopefully soon before the first frost!
