Default Ensete ventricosum

One of the great ornamental aspects of Ensete ventricosum is the red leaf stem and petiole.
How variable is this. You can see from my photo, this one the red stops at the base of the leaf.
All of these I have seen and grown have the full red on the leaf stem right from a younger size than this one.

Is this normal and do others have this type of colouring.

If it's seed grown then it will be variable. 'Maurelli' is the very purple one

In Africa there are so many varieties of what we call normal green ventricosum you wouldn't believe!

Kind regards,
Remko.
