Default Ensete Mauelii? I think not...opinions please??

have a question about these Ensete Maurelii that i purchased from Santa Rosa Gardens several weeks ago...they aren't showing even a hint of red...is that something that young tissue cultured Ensete Maurelii might be lacking or is this something else maybe? Santa Rosa Gardens has a good reputation, so this has caught me by surprise if they are not what i ordered....

Looks like a ensete ventricosum that was grown in a low light environment.
The leaves look really stretched out.
But it's definetly not a maurelli.

Not Maurelli. Looks like a cultivated form of Ventricosum, the form with the large seed, rather than the normal Ventricosum, which would have a red midrib and shorter broader leaves.

Well after i sent pictures of whatever these are to Santa Rosa Gardens, They acknowledge that these are indeed NOT Ensete Maurelii (no surprise there) and have refunded my money PLUS they are sending me replacement plants for free....Now THAT is a good company that stands behind what they sell...Cheers to Santa Rosa Gardens!

Nice to see a vendor stand behind their product. Did they tell what the plants are? I assume you're keeping them. They could at least give you a list of what they grow.

Santa Rosa seems pretty good to me, I ordered Bordelon for 5.99 a few months back and now it is about 4 feet with two pups. Glad they are fixing it, I am going to order some more stuff from them soon.

As jmoore mentioned, this was from a much larger seed than the standard E. ventricosum, about 1.5cm diameter.
