It finally broke the 20C mark today, and along with that, the maple buds are starting to open up so it is finally starting look like spring which should have happened 3-4 weeks ago, but there's lots of rain in the forecast, and these warm-ups have never lasted longer than 3 days, but I think this marks the end of winter-like weather.

Hopefully this La Nina weather pattern ends soon because I don't like it being consistently colder than avg, being cloudy, and raining or snowing all the time. 2010 was perhaps one of the best summers because we actually had extended periods of warm temperatures and sunshine.

I have to concur with Bernd that we have had and still are having a very cool spring here with temperatures much below average for the season. Still though, the weather in Pyrgos was great(although again below average) during the Easter holidays with 25C highs daily and minimums around 16C. In Melissia,it was another story, with highs lower than 16C and lows below 10C probably. We are now having cool rainy weather with highs around 12C that is predicted to last till Friday. After that,we are supposedly in for great spring weather with highs of 24C and rising every day!!!! Lows will be the average high temperatures we have been having till now, around 16C!

Looking forward to fast banana growth!!!

watching all the devastation in MS AL and GA my thoughts go
out not just to our banana friends, but all down there..
wow..what horrific storms.. i grew up in SD we had our share of
tornadoes..but as a kid..they were thrilling..i had no sense of the
danger..
i hope all of our friends and family are ok..and love and thoughts go
to those who may have had some tragedy..

We're getting frost for the next few nights, and daytime highs are not getting much above freezing either. Luckily I have wall-o-water protectors on my banana plants or else they would be toast.

There is still an abnormal amount of cold air in the northern hemisphere, and I'm sure everyone else in Ontario probably feels it too. Winter is not over yet, at least in the north.
