Does anyone knows a nursery willing to ship a Dwarf Brazilian to Italy ?
So far I've found only "rare bananas" in US but shipping and phytocertificate costs are insane...
I'm searching also a dwarf Namwah.

I want a Dwarf Brazilian, too! I searched all my sources, but so far no luck. I sent also an email request to one of my sources if Dwarf Brazilian will be available soon.
Dwarf Namwah seems also to be not available at the moment. But I have one and if there will be a pup in spring, I could send it to you.

Thanks a lot it would be much apreciated.

I've two friends in Brazil and I could ask them to find one, since it should be common there, but there will be the problem of phytosanitary certificate.... I think they would not know how to get it and without it there is a big chance that it would be confiscated upon arriving in Europe....

I should ask to Thailandplant... maybe he can get it one somewhere.....

I've got a Dwarf Brazilian. It's circa 1.5m high and has one veeery small pup (for Ante) and another coming just right off the ground. Both stopped growing after I repotted the plant in November, but the mother plant continues to proliferate. I'd say it's the lack of daylight that bothers those little babies down below those leaves. I might nourish the next pup after Ante for you guys! Whatdya say?

I received no positive answers on my quest for a Dwarf Brazilian here in Europe.
But Jack may hopefully be able to supply us with a pup. In autmn I have asked a banana friend in Germany who also owns one, but there were no pups in sight. I might ask for an update, but I doubt that there's already something in sight!
I just checked on my nanas in my greenhouse and all are doing fine, but don't grow very much at the moment. The Dwarf Namwah is about 30 cm at the pstem. It was a small pup last August when I got it. I'll let you know guys.

By the way: My California Gold did better than the much bigger Rajapuri during the cold (both outside in the ground). I'll post some pics soon!

Found a source!!!!
Exoticgarten in Austria has some Dwarf Brazilians in stock. They sell them for 28 €. More plants are due to arrive in April.
If you check the offer on the website you'll find a lot of rare bananas. I don't know if they're all available now and they haven't published prices yet for most of their offer.
They say on their website, that they don't have pics from all the plants, so there are "example pics" for some cultivars.
And I also hae no idea if they speak English and will ship within Europe, but why shouldn't they. I'll ask them. If they don't speak English, I could help out.
They also have Dw. Namwah!

Yeah that's right, but the €-symbol is a few lines below and if you check out the Saba it says 94 and this definitely can't be the price!

uff sig of relief.....

Well.... some seller overprice so much on bananas that it would not be "out of the world" if 94 was EURO !!!!

If the prices are that low I will consider to order more than one 'nana......
I was scared I had to ask for a loan with the prices I supposed to read !!! LOL

P.S.
Please , some german speaking guy , tell him to to make some order in his website..... if it was not for BB73 I would have discarded him immediately.

Yeah, do you remember the times of old Italian Lira? It would be like 1 000 000 liras for a banana. LOL Ridiculous, yet funny memories of my childhood. If you spit a chewing gum outside, the fine would be like 20 000 000 Lyras.

I've wrote him two times but he does not answer...... I don't know if it's due to something spam related or he simply does not understand english...

Since I'm interested in 4 nanas it should be his interest to reply as soon as possible.....

Sure I would share the info here. It's a bit strange why they don't answer, but who knows? Maybe they're out of the office. We'll see.
The first answer on my email came quick - the next day.

If Exoticgarten is not shipping internationally, then Jack would be our man, because they're located about an hour away from Bratislava in Gramatneusiedel in Austria.
But I think they ship, because they're writing about it in the "terms & conditions"...
