Musa Jhapari

Hello Euroean Friends,

I just happen to know that a banana named "Musa Jhapari" is getting
popularity in Europe.
And I already know some characteristics of this banana, being very cold
torelant, dwarf and produces edible fruits etc.

So I further want to know about its cold hardiness in comparison with
Ice Cream and Dwarf Orinoco etc.

Thanks in advance for your informations.

In addition, there is a difference in cold temperature by an individual or breed. ● over winter you may want wither in winter condition is poor even hardy plant. In some cases, can die in such cold weather. To avoid this situation, it is recommended that you protection against the cold winter measures. It is a good idea to cover, such as non-woven straw and the shaft and root around. In the case of pot cultivation, is placed under the eaves, you will be may be carried out further measures against cold. I think better if you put in a room even if there is no heating. ● fruition if you can start in a good state as much as possible in the spring, the fruit of banana outdoors likely to enjoy increases more. Just such as cold snap is to say the spring may come, bud buds much trouble and wither at this start of the year is slow, because not produce good results, the temperature spring watch out , please.

I never know that Musa Jhapari is a bunch for D. Namwah or Raja Puri.
If so, its cold heardiness can be forseen from the experience with Namwwah
and/or Raja Puri.
From my exerience, Raja Puri was not so cold torelant as Ice Cream.
So Musa Jhapari will not be hardier than Icre Cream.

Is it right?

Well 1.5m is what they described the plant as when fruiting.. I've only seen one D. Namwah do that.. Maybe some one else will chime in but I don't think its normal for the most part so I don't think its really a D. Namwah.. but it would be cool if it were. Caligold is more cold tolerant that Ice Cream or I wouldn't have lost one due to a frost. My Raja Puri endured.. both were quite established. :^)

Hello Ipatelski,

The unit price of 17,800yen(US$178) seems to be ridiculous as Frostharte-
palmen sells this banana at E45(US$58).
The price difference between Japan and Germany is amazingly big!

That's why we cannot buy at this price if its cold hardiness is inferior to
that of Ice Cream, Orinoco or Rajapuri.
It must be far more stronger as Sikkimensis if it is sold at 17,800yen.
This is the main reason why I stick to its hardiness.
