I had mine stored in the office it was 5ft.. then the pstem just toppled over. What a shame.. On the brighter side my Mission Olive made it thru the winter & is buddin' out (I had my fingers crossed for that one) :^)

So sorry to hear about all your losses - water has a lot to answer for!!! No consolation I know - but we have had such a hot and wet spring that my main 1000 fingers trunk rotted from all the water coming off the roof - but I have good pups to replace it. People can't believe how rarely I water my orchids either! lol! I am mean with water but thankfully we don't have the cold that you have to contend with - so brave of you!

I lost both my musa basjoos too so I know exactly how it feels. They etoliated when I brought them inside and eventually rotted out most likely due to the lack of enough sunlight.
I guess I'm too far north to be growing bananas.

No, that one is an unknown right now--I had 2 of those in containers and both are still looking OK--they had 1 full size leaf each when I took them out of the greenhouse, but wind broke all of them, so right now they are just standing stalks. This warm weather should bring them out soon. All of my other container plants have new leaves.

Steve, I don't they rotted because of not enough sunlite. I think the roots were not dry enough. I have a big IC that is just now (since Oct) putting out a new leaf. It stayed sorta dormant all winter so I hardly gave any water & it really had no direct sun. I only watered the actively growing plants.
