Dwarf fruiting varieties?

I'm looking for seeds or [whatever the tubers are called] for dwarf varieties of fruiting bananas that I can get hold of in the UK, or get shipped here.

I'd particularly like to get the dwarf Blue Java and Red Dacca species.

I'm having to grow them on a balcony, and my max headroom (heh) is 9'/2.7m - the non-dwarf species want at least 3x that when fully going, though of course even with all the sun my balcony gets they're not likely to rocket up so high.

Any suggestions as to where I can get hold of these? Or is it possible to persuade the normal sized varieties to stay shorter somehow?

both those varieties are to large. i'm sure majority of UK is colder climates so even if you attempted these the number of years and size of container to get them to fruition would be a looooonnnggggg time. Try out the "truly tiny" for a good beginner patio plant

In the uk super dwarf cavendish or forms of something very similar are becoming very common (and cheap) as foliage houseplants. I got mine from a big box diy store. I’d assume the same would hold across most of Northern Europe. It probably won’t say “super dwarf cavendish” on the label but will be the same or similar

You could try www.canarius.com they're based in the Canary Islands and offer the necessary phytosanitary certificate to ship to Europe (but not the UK, for now *damn brexit*)

Hmm, stick to Super Dwarf Cavendish (aka Musa Tropicana) or just plain old Dwarf Cavendish. Get em on Ebay.
