Dwarf fruiting varieties?
I'm looking for seeds or [whatever the tubers are called] for dwarf varieties of fruiting bananas that I can get hold of in the UK, or get shipped here.
I'd particularly like to get the dwarf Blue Java and Red Dacca species. I'm having to grow them on a balcony, and my max headroom (heh) is 9'/2.7m - the non-dwarf species want at least 3x that when fully going, though of course even with all the sun my balcony gets they're not likely to rocket up so high. Any suggestions as to where I can get hold of these? Or is it possible to persuade the normal sized varieties to stay shorter somehow? |
