Basjoo acceleration
At least in the last 2-3 weeks we've got warmer nights too(not days only), and the old group of my basjoo get accelerated.
photo taked on 14th of may and the same pups a day latter :))) Except 3 bigger pups 60-70 cm tall(approx 2 ft), you can see 3 other very little pups on the ground, i noticed them on the second day:):08: And this is the new Basjoo, wintered in a pot, and i planted him in a ground last Sunday. I will give actual photos in this thread in the middle of the next week. |
Re: Basjoo acceleration
Hi everyone! : )
Here is the progress of my old (one year:ha:) group of basjoos: 26-th of may and on the next day, 27-th There are 3 another young pups (one is well visible in the front of picture), and the father of a second groups of that kind of bananas, i planted 3 weeks ago seems very well too(will post some photos this weekend). His story is very interesting: one of the girls in the office gave it to me last year, an half ft tall. I planted him in a little pot, but very fast understood that this is NOT the same like my old Dwarf Cavendish :08: - he grows veeeery faster, and i re-planted him twice in bigger pots till winter, when he was the only survival from the group of 4 or 5 another young bananas(dwarf C.) even became a bit taller till spring. The interesting difference between him and that basjoos on a photos is a soft, but nonably pink color of that part of stem where the leafs are separating from it and maybe they seems some waxy... I will try to make some more quality photos this weekend too. regards! |
Re: Basjoo acceleration
Especially smaller pups grow fast, bigger usually slow down. It seems like you have quiet rich soil so they should grow well.

Re: Basjoo acceleration
M. Sikkim. surprised me with some partly colored leafs
And the Basjoos 3 days ago, I'm very proud of them :08: As seen on picture, weeds are very persistent and I think to mulch bananas with some straw or sawdust, not for better look only, but to keep moisture too. So i accept advices about : ) |
Re: Basjoo acceleration
