I wouldnt run on this one. Most of these sellers are tiefs. I know few peoples from Croatia that where tricked this way. Look at his feedback!!!!

Im a great banana lover but the aeae is 2 expensive.
Maybe in the future withe a new techniek its possible 2 have them tissue cultured :woohoonaner:

Well, YAKUZA:
- Don't look for Saba, if I can advice you! The fruit is edible, yet better used for cooking, but the plant is damn damn damn damn tall and has the most robust stature I've ever seen. You won't be able to move it for winter, it's jsut tooooooo massive. ;)

- Let's hope not, my dispositions for growing an Ae Ae are very limited and I wouldn't wanna such plant to suffer in my conditions, even though it's degenarated already ;)
I was thinking more about other variegated spiecies, some hardier, like Nam Wa's (which are called Nam Wa Pearl, but they reportedly die to many good growers) or other interesting plant that I could put in for the winter.
Ae Aes are beautiful, but there so many other wonderful plants much more suitable to growing in our conditions. Maybe the only one here, who could grow the Ae Ae with some problems is Kalabrian...

Also, this is precisely that kind of a plant, that I want to see a person behind, so I would not buy it any cost, good or bad.
Nanas have to have their history, don't you think? A tie to someone you might always see in the plant. :D

I alsow think my monkey finger is not growing above 3 m this year. But i hope im rong. The season runs 2 early november.

Keep in mind that the 'Florida' is not an Ae Ae, but a plant with seeded fruit.

Try these people Tropical Plants they have them listed, I believe you have to request them. Worth an email. Oh I should point out they are closed over September so you may not get a reply to your email straight away.

So you see its all to easy to buy that little tiny plant even if its 150$ but its going to grow if your are doing your job and in the end what will you have but a difficult to manage plant thats totally Dependant on you for its life if your like me then you are willing to suffer LOL but you better have a strong back and tall ceilings

All I know is that I have both Saba, and Ae Ae. I livein Daytoina Beach Florida. I have had the same Saba mat for well over 10 years. In all that time mine have indeed gotten very tall and on managed to produce 5 stalks if fruit. Of all of them, they have all shriveled up and died on the tree. This plant was a TC plant and might have something to do with it, that was also well tended to and fertilized always, but it is a gorgeous plant that has grown from my yard into 2 neighbors and so I left it there. I have since cut mine down and planted a Mekong giant. I also have an AeAe that had grown nicely and made fruit on both trees, but the SOOOO many suckers that never manage to grow, and the fruit that the fruit is also pink to orange and better suited for cooking. Besides that their beauty is worth th e trouble but not a rewarding banana.
