Well I use the compost by just putting it on top of the soil. I grow in containers. I also use the juice prduced in the process by diluting in water and watering my plants with it. I feed the worms with old fruits, veggies, peels paper, carton, banana leaves and peels. Never put citrus in there. No meat or cooked food either. I do it in the basement and it doesn't smell at all. I will try to remember to post pics this week-end. Sorry guys, I always forget to... I have 3 rubbermaid bins full of them. I will give some to my daughter's school and probably sell a few pounds. They reproduce very quickly.

Just to dilute the juice first... That's about it. And you could use the worms as protein in case of a zombie attack! Lol!

Yes, every once in a while I toss a chunk of worms and dirt to the tilapia. I also occasionally spray worm juice and EM all around the farm in the BD style.

Last March I tried 2 worm bins The Worm Factory 360. I used the coir and newspaper as well as the minerals mixed with water to get it started and put in the pulp from a juicer and froze the pulp in ice trays and just fed 2-3 little cubes in a week or so but never really saw much eating considering I read reviews on Amazon where these worms will eat up to a few pounds of food a week. I bought 1200 worms X 2 so 2400 worms to start in 2 separate Worm Factory 360 bins. Within 2 weeks I could barely find any living worms. Quite a lot escaped the bin, also had a lot of fruit flies and mites. Contacted the company "Nature's Good Guys" from Amazon, and they sent a replacement batch and after arrival same thing after 2 weeks or so there was literally no worms to find at all. After that I contacted Amazon to get my money back. Also, being that I live in Florida, even though it was March and then mid April on the replacement worm batch the temperatures here were hitting 90 which I hear is not a good climate for worms. Having said that, my worms were indoors 74-76 degrees.

Fast forward to now, mid November... I think this might be a safe time where the worms wont be cooking in their USPS box along the 4-5 days in transit. Temps are low 80s but mid to upper 60s at night.

I decided to try Jim's Worm Farm om Amazon since there was better reviews but troubling I read a few reviews saying their worms died shortly after arrival.

So I ordered a batch from Jims on Amazon, and found a Florida seller on eBay I also bought from and will keep them in 2 separate bins and hope I can actually get them to thrive and survive.

It definitely shouldn't be this difficult, as I spent hours upon hours of research on how to raise these worms even going so far as to make custom DIY worm chow supplement, (Crushed Oyster shell, crushed egg shell, yellow corn meal and whole wheat flour), freezing the food to kill any possible fly larvae, and only using filtered tap water to spray the bin with.

Been there done that. I've read all the forum posts there and has been to 20 or more websites, probably watched over 50 videos etc. Despite not being able to keep the worms alive I would think with the amount of research I have done I'd pretty much be considered an expert on worms. Let's hope the problem was the batches of worms from that company, as I read on the reviews from one reviewers the worms came from China which is odd as it is an American company.

Well the 2 batches of worms I ordered strangely came from the same place as Jim's Worm Farm even though I bought 1 batch from a Florida eBay seller. Even though they were the same quantity the ones that said Jim's Worm Farm on the box was very light and compared to the other batch was like half the worms. I had to contact them and they were nice enough to send a bigger batch.

It's been over a month and they are doing better than when I tried last year, but I think the Worm Factory 360 isn't ideal. I bought the Worm Inn but for some reason they stopped selling it with the PVC stand and I have to build a wooden stand with no power tools. So basically I have a $120 Worn Inn I can't use.
