I evaluated compost tea nearly 10 years ago. I had a trial with compost, compost tea, compost+compost tea, manure, and chemical fertilizer. The compost tea was almost as bad as putting nothing out. Perhaps it would work well for hydroponics.

Compost tea is the latest fad for self-styled naturalists and pot growers.

Teas can work very well and have for me. I made mine with fresh chicken manure that was too hot to add to the garden. I dumped out my somewhat stinky barrel when strange white 1 to 2" alien wormlike creatures began inhabiting the poo pot a few months later and totally creeped me out. I've never bothered soaking kitchen scraps and such because you can just bury them in the garden so why make tea? My plants appreciated manure tea.
