Re: Muriate of Potash or Sulphate of Potash?
If money and storage are not issues, I would go with the sulfate of potash. SOP is more expensive and a lower analysis. I think the next time I order fertilizer I may actually get sulpomag. For now I have 400 lbs of MOP left over.

Re: Muriate of Potash or Sulphate of Potash?
For people growing a few houseplants, muriate of potash (potassium chloride) is available in small quantities at the grocery store under the brand name NoSalt, right next to the regular salt. But be sure to get the zero-sodium kind, not the "lite salt" that's a mixture of sodium chloride and potassium chloride.

Re: Muriate of Potash or Sulphate of Potash?
MOP or potassium chloride is (not so well) known to turn soil into cement. I am looking everywhere for more evidence but the anecdotes satisfy me enough, if you aren't
tilling your soil regularly then don't use MOP it cements the soil. Muriate of Potash, not only a waste of money... | The Farming Forum |

Re: Muriate of Potash or Sulphate of Potash?
Out here in CA, muriate of potash is a pool chemical. I won't use it because it contains chlorine.

Re: Muriate of Potash or Sulphate of Potash?
I have the sulphate kind (SOP), and it says it is 0-0-60. How much how often per plant / mat? (in cups)
It dissolves instantly in water, so I wonder more about leaching below the root zone too quickly.
