Hi Mike,
I mix my own banana soil, so I'm not sure about this particular brand. Sorry I can't help you... Anyone else have any input? ~Che |

Re: Fox Farms potting soil
Hi Mike,
I personally would go with the Happy Frog. A lot of Fox Farm products are very hot, even the Happy Frog. If your plants are healthy it should not be an issue. I have transplanted all kind of plants into this mix without issues after germination in a seed starting mix. Hope this helps. Dell |
Re: Fox Farms potting soil
I agree with Gatorfan... Ocean Forest is indeed "hot" and ready to feed plants right away (with bat guano, fish emulsion, and crab meal, etc.). Ocean might be a bit strong for a plant that you haven't tested / grown first. I wouldn't risk an aeae'. I personally haven't used Ocean for new, tender plants but is great for established. Happy Frog is great for growing in containers and have used it many times. Great product, but indeed costs more.

Re: Fox Farms potting soil
The best price I have ever seen for Happy Frog was at Tractor Supply. Can’t remember what I paid but bought 4 bags it was such a deal. I am pretty sure they still sell it but don’t know if the raised the price.
Made a mistake on the retailer it is Rural King not Tractor Supply. Sorry for the screw up. Dell |

with both the miracle grow and the burpee for me work great. i pot them and the roots take over a 3 gallon pot in a month. very rarely do my plants stay in a pot more than a month. just replanted 2 gros michal, had them in pots till i could prepare a hole. but for those of you who have to over winter in the house or green house for long periods at a time, the very expensive potting soil may well be worth the price. |
