Im betting it would be a good addition

Re: fiber from juicer
I would use it in your compost pile first. Let it break down, and you'll have great soil amendment.

I bet that stuff would break down super fast. I've heard of people using used coffee grounds from coffee houses as a soil amendment and/or for mushroom farming. I think fruit fibers would probably be even better.

That stuff is gold. I used to use it when I had access.

Re: fiber from juicer
Sounds like a great idea! What exactly is a juice store, so that I can try and find one here?
I'll bet it won't smell too good while it's breaking down, but I'll also bet it would be awesome for any planting beds. |
Re: fiber from juicer
Hummmm .... I don't know why he is trowing the stuff away. Stores and fruit stands in the middle east leave it in the juice. The juicers grind the fiber up very fine. ... I've drink a lot of orange juice this way and make the same style juice by dropping whole oranges into my blender. .... Even tomato juice is much thicker and tastier. Just drop the tomato into the blender and then strain out any skin or bits that wont pass through the strainer.
Yes add it to your compost pile if he is giving it to you for free. But 500 lbs a week, (???), keep the fiber in a separate pile and only add a small amount (25% ???) to the compost as needed. |

Heck yeah, that sounds like a score!

Re: fiber from juicer
When I was juicing. I would put all the pulp in the freezer until I had a large jar full. I would add that into the compost tumbler with a bunch of carbon. It would break down really fast!
