Unhappy Banana Hoeing Suggestions?

Hi all,

I have a small garden where I planted 12 banana trees. As the spring approached the garden is filled with add bad grass and weeds. I did the hoeing properly but the weeds emerged again in 1-2 days. Is there any way to remove weeds permanently? A friend recommended me a weed killer from https://backyardmash.com/weed-contro...-weed-killers/. Has anyone tried a weed killer? Will it affect my trees or is it safe for them?

I wouldn't use any of the weed killers on or around the banana's. Lay down news paper or corrugated cardboard (clean cardboard no writing or advertising) and cover with mulch.

Herbicides are very bad for bananas, and for humans for that matter.

Those type of contact herbicides work well.
Purchase what you can afford.
Follow the directions and avoid overspray to non targeted plants.
A pump sprayer works well for small precision applications in the landscape and garden areas.

And then again it's always handy to have a good hoe in the garden.
