When to transplant from pot

Have we out grown our pot? Central TX summers are harsh but my tree does look a tad tired and maybe I should transplant
I have no idea how to post pictures so if this doesn’t post I’ll try again

When it gets HIGH. ... That one looks High enough. So get it 'off the pot' and onto something else.

How long has it been in that pot? About every two years plants need to be repotted with fresh potting mix. The mix breaks down (decompose) after 2 years or so.

This will be year one in June - second repot- - should I clip off the bottom leaves?

I would. ...mostly because the leaves are pulling away from the pstem and will soon die anyway.

Transplant to the ground. The plant will grow much faster. .... But if you want to keep it in a pot, go to one about 2 1/1 or 3 times bigger. May be a 15 to 25 gal pot.

Move up to a landscape container this size if you can .
They are not pretty but they work.
Click on the photo to see other sizes that might better suite you.

I think these are 18 gal landscape containers.

Big box stores sells similar "totes with handles" in assorted colors, while not as robust they are inexpensive and colorful.

You will also lose most of your bottom leaves so you may trim them off.....not a bad thing it just happens when you repot sometimes.

Once in the larger container with fresh new soil and light fertilizer expect the plant to grow 3x its size:)
