i am very new to this but i was curious as to when to repot. I read that its good to have a banana plant in a wider, bigger pot to allow for larger growth. But im guessing when you know its ready for a larger pot or can you just put it in a large pot to begin with.
My two sdc plants are only a foot high right now and i have them in 10inch pots. If i want them to grow more and larger should i wait to put them in three or five gallon pots, or can i do that soon? In the end these will be potted plants for life most likely as i live in massachusetts, but i would like them to get large enough to produce fruit. Please advise. Thanks. Tommyg ![]()

Repot or refresh your container mix now.
Container mix does get "worn out" after a few seasons. keep it fresh. |

Yes, I am aware. I have one
I was merely commenting on your post saying "Bravo....what an incredible post/spam of the forum. Great angle..." I didn't know if you were talking about myself or the original poster for not providing the knowledge from his endeavor to anyone else looking for advice/help. I know my musa truly tiny is tiny. It's in a pot, no landscaping. potscaping. My entire garden is potted. |

That is my little banana. I don't have a LOT of direct sunlight, so pardon it's slow growth. It's about a year old. I just repotted it last night and I'm hoping it will take off a bit. It is a super dwarf after all. |
