Re: What did you pot today (Bananas)
The last three that I planted were Manzano, Hua Moa and Siam Ruby. Digging in the limestone is quite a workout but the plants look good already and the SR has a few pups. I have mounded about 3" of fresh horse manure mixed with bedding around the p-stems, out to a 3' radius over the cleared off soil. The three plants are in a single SSE-NNW row, 12' apart. I also fertilized the recently planted RP with fresh horse manure collected near the street. Continuing to clear land for planting on a daily basis. Never a dull moment in this Florida weather.

Re: What did you pot today (Bananas)
I potted up my beautiful Siam Ruby last night, she will stay inside until this weekend as we seem to be in the "monsoon" season here, its been raining for 3 days. First we are down 8 inches in rain fall for the season and now that is no longer an issue!

Re: What did you pot today (Bananas)
Talked local city workers nearby into giving me their dumptruck full of composted mulch. Around seven tons worth. I repayed them with some basjoos. So I planted around 30 basjoos into a new bed.

Re: What did you pot today (Bananas)
Today I potted ebun musak (2), cardaba, mahoi and klui kai that I received from Plantucopia through the classifieds here. Thanks so much Jimmmy!!!
I'll probably leave them in the pots for the winter in a friend's greenhouse and plant them in the spring. Russell Last edited by coast crab : 09-02-2009 at 10:12 PM. |

I have been busy and much on the road lately.
Last week, I potted up two really nice, and big, corms from Pete: A great big ice cream and an orinoco. Also, I potted up two nice little plants I got from Richard: a double and a misi luki. Not sure where the camera is atm, will post pics later. aaron |
