![]() General Hydroponics Flora Nova and a little PH down. I try to get the PH between 6.2 - 6.5. Most of the time I've been ussing 500-600ppm but the last refill I did 1000ppm and it actually was the first time it grew up a good bit. The last 15-20% of the height was in the last 2-3 weeks. Its just been putting out leaves like crazy ever since its been in there lol. Last leaf isn't coming out as good as the others I think its because my light stopped working.
The pic I took right after I cut it off |

![]() conejov-No problem. Just let me know. Hey, you might consider adding your location to your profile. I had no idea you were in Houston as well.
ewitte- I will probably have some Orinoco pups later on. As of right now there is only one tiny pup on my Hua Moa and none on my Ice Cream. |

![]() That's exactly why I started building hydroponic units a year ago was to grow them in the winter, It kind of evolved into a year round venture, I am building and selling them now online, But never had time to get my plants started in them other than herbs etc. I am building a 30 gallon unitnow that will be a drip/Aero unit to see how well it does outdoors in Hydroponic growing medium. I am sure results will be mixed based on nutrients Banana's need.

![]() I would like to see someone construct a hydroponic seed germinator. Maybe banana seeds would like that. It would be one way of providing the fluctuating temps for the ideal cycles, and the only way I can imagine that would provide the correct low temps in summer and winter. It may not involve keeping the seeds in water, just keeping them hunid and at the right temps for the right time each day. Then when they sprout, providing adequate moisture and nutrients.
If anyone of you inventors out there have such an idea, I would like to see a thread on your idea. |

![]() It could be done, using heater for aquarium, and one of the humidome containers and an air pump, or if you wanted to go high tech could construct one from clear acrylic. Maybe use some rapid rooter plugs for the seeds, that way they stay moist but not soaked in water, and could use a neublizer to atomize nutrients in like 100% humidity envirnment all the time, for cold season throw couple ice cubes in reservoir.. Should work, i'd like to see a few of us try to come up with something and share the results. Who's in? I'll start mine this weekend i am up for a challenge.

![]() why does it look so weird? That doesn't look like a raja puri... is that just from the hydroponic growing or is it genetic?

![]() Probably it looks way different than the ones I had in the dirt (this one was my first pup). Actually the new leaves without the LED light look different as well. Its a much lighter shade of green.

![]() hello,
your hydro banana plant is growing nicely and looks great. i recently began growing a blue java in a hydro unit and am having some difficulties. first of all, i put way too much nutrient in to begin with and gave the plant nutrient burn. i flushed out the unit and went way back on the nutrient. currently, i am using house and garden aqua flakes. i put in one teaspoon of A and 1 teaspoon of B into a 2.6 gallon reservoir. i pH'ed it to 5.8, which is what the bottle said. basically, it looks very droopy and it doesnt seem to be growing very well if at all. it sprouted 1 leaf a week or 2 ago. i dug through the hydroton to look at the roots. there are numerous small white roots growing off of larger brownish looking roots. i am wondering if it has root rot. i dont have any special lighting for it now, but will be receiving a 400W HPS light this week (hopefully). the plant has about a 11 inch stem. i dont know what to do. any advice? thanks. |
