Re: Smart pot photos???
Hi Dave, they are made from a heavy industrial type weed barrier. The bottom is a circle cut out & stitched all around to the bottom of the side. They are very sturdy - you can't tear them.

Re: Smart pot photos???
I was just thinking of picking up some heavy duty weed tarp on clearance and trying to stitch up a few of my own. Any guess as to what type of thread they are put together with?

Re: Smart pot photos???
If you sold them, you would have to deal with patent issues.

Re: Smart pot photos???
A sewing store would have heavy thread used for making coats. I'm sure they have much better stuff that I've never heard of ..been a long time that I sewed. The stitching looks like the kind around the neckband of a good sweatshirt...Paula would know what kind of stitch that is.
I wonder if it would be worth making to sell. My 65 gal cost $19.95. Originally, I think it was called Jackpot & then SmartPot copied them.

Re: Smart pot photos???
Yah I have seen the jackpots before as well, you can tell the difference because the fold/seam is sticking out from the outside of the pot....
Smartpots looks like the material is a little thicker than the jackpots as well. Quote:

Re: Smart pot photos???
you can make you own jack pots with out having to sow cut the square of good heavy fabric place eyelid grommets at 6" intervals around edges put the plant in question in the middle string with rope in and out of each eye pull tight until fabric is cinched around the top of root ball and tie it together viola instant jack pot no sowing

Re: Smart pot photos???
I made some kinda jackpots to hang on my fence out of the nursery ground cover. I just built a wooden frame 4ft long 1ft by 1ft stapled it onto the frame to bolt onto the top of my fence for growing stuff on my overhead trellis...
