Default Sensitive plant around banana pstem?

Hey guys I'm seeing a lot of people with plants around there pstem in the pot. I think this is not only nice but seems a good space saver!
I was wondering if anyone has tried a sensitive plant? It reaches about 18" and is a weed where it is from.
The banana plant is a dwarf Orinoco approximately 3' tall and in a (I think) 20 gallon pot. It's the pots the nurseries use for trees.
I'm specifically worried about robbing the banana of nutrients, root issues and of course if the banana will be able to put out pups?

My banana is in a mix of miracle gro potting soil and topped with cow and sheep manure.

We use mimosa(sensitive plant) as a ground cover at a permaculture demonstration site I help out with here in Tampa. And we never have had a problem with it planted around any of the fruit trees. It's not a deep rooting plant so I don't think it would cause any adverse effects to the banana in a pot.

It's a very cool plant too nonetheless with really pretty pink flowers.

That reminds me I need to germinate my Sensitive plant seeds that I got as a free gift lol, we do have a non tropical hardy form here of sensitive briar that grows in dry ditches that is kinda cool as well, kids always like em, but they are stickery. Let me warn you though if you grow them indoors, I grew the tropical kind a few years back, and spider mites will murder them, and very hard to get rid of them because of all the little leaflets, whole leafs will fall off.

No way, that stuff is the bane of my existence, haha! Awful weed where I live. Difficult and painful to get rid of without thick gloves.

I lived a bit in Mauritius and I've seen a place there that was covered of it. It was thicker than grass!

The one I have is the type that when you touch it, it closes up. Here's a video of mine when I first got it.

Ours does the same, but just painfully thorny and can become a ground cover thicket.

Thorns or no thorns, pulling it off your land breaks your back for sure!

It is actually an invasive species. I feel kinda dumb for buying a weed, but it makes me think of Avatar.

Just looked it up...over 850 species! Ranging from weeds to delicate, but man some of them are really nice!
