Repotting a kavendish
When I brought the plant inside
The kavendish pot looked Like was wet but.. Haven't water the plants in a while So decided to repotting.. And I was right the plant Came straight from Greenhouse with their soil It was too wet, some of the roots were dead.... so, Followed suggestion from members of this Forum. 50/50 perlite, peatmoss,and also I add a teaspoon of mycorizzae mix, Also I washed the roots in a solution of water /bleach in case of fungus rot Hope I did it right.. key rule with bananas is to not overwater them as they rot so quickly its stupid. cut of the dead roots and don't water the plant for a while. u did what I would have done. u could get a soil moisture testing kit (cheap off amazon) it gives you an idea when to water to make sure you don't rot the bananas. so good luck! |

The dwarf Cavendish is dead root rot I wad very upset, I can't find another one ☹️☹️ |

Check Canadian Tire. I have seen plants labelled as Dwarf Cavendish the last 3 times I have been in there this summer. In the houseplant section. Also, Tropic of Canada sells a few varieties you might be interested in .....can't remember if DC is one of them or not.... We specialize in tropical, food bearing plants, that will grow and thrive in the Canadian environment.
