Yes! I originally planted it with the top of the corm a bit above the surface and added soil when the pups started coming out. There were two, but the other stopped growing. I am just glad this one is doing well! This was the only corm I got from you because I think it was your last one. It was the size of a basketball! I haven't been able to get a good picture with the right light that shows the beautiful red p stem, but I will post it when I do.
Thanks again for selling it to me! It is really beautiful. |

Basketball? Geeze shipping was not cheap on those guys. I remember shipping them out. Im glade to see it is doing well. I would personally reccomend only keeping 1 live pup on it for now. But being the size od that corm it shoul have a lot of stored energy.

You received a bare corm a couple of months ago, and in just 2 months that big plant in your initial post has materialized? That's amazing ![]()

It sits under grow lights (fluorescent) and when I planted it, I gave it a good dose of worm castings and fruit and flower fertilizer mixed into the soil, and watered it in with seaweed, Big Bloom and micorrhyzae. I actually got it in the beginning of November, now that I looked back. My concept of time is not great, so it has actually been about 3 months. Recently, it has been putting off a new leaf about every 10-14 days. Since I last posted, a new leaf has already unfurled and a new one is peaking out! And yeah, it is my most expensive banana, so I am glad it is doing well!

IMO the Red Dwarf is the slowest growing one that I have grown.
