Red abyssinian banana leaves wilting
Planted in pots two red bananas in June 2019. Beautiful, fast growing. Reached 5 feet tall and brought inside for the winter. Cut fertilizer to half, and water every 3 days. Sitting in full glass office lobby facing South. Did great most of the winter growing to 9 feet tall. New leaf every 14 days. 5 foot leaves. Last 6 weeks leaves are starting to wilt and touching the ground and I have to cut them off. Like the plant doesnt have the strength to hold up the leaves. I'm loosing leaves faster than its growing them. Any suggestions or help??Hopefully 4-5 more weeks can bring them back outside in Chicago.

Re: Red abyssinian banana leaves wilting
I'm no banana expert but I'm wondering if every 3 days watering could be too much for it being indoors if your potting mix isn't very well draining.

Re: Red abyssinian banana leaves wilting
They are in 15 gal pots with holes on bottom and trays to catch any extra water that drains out. Soil is well draining 50% peat, 20% peralite, 10% wood chips, 10% sand, 10% mushroom compost.
