Question about shoots on bananas for a noobie

Hi guys, I'm new to bananas :08: and I just noticed that my banana has two little baby bananas growing from the sides. After reading a bit about them, I know its still too early to try to separate them. My concern is that since i live in new york, I'm guessing the plant has only another month at most to be out and getting full sun. Do I just keep growing the guy as normal? Or do the babies need any special consideration? Also... do you think it needs a bigger pot now that there's potentially two more naners growing? Or can I wait until I bring it back out next year to upsize? It's a dwarf lady finger

Thanks!!!

First of all, welcome to bananas.org.

I don't grow any banana plants in pots, but if it would be my plant, I would leave it as is. The pups are way too tiny to separate.

Leave it as is. In my experience if something goes wrong, the mother plant will die and the pups will replace her.

Definitely leave the pups alone. If you have a larger pot, have room for it inside and can lift a heavier mass, I'd gently transplant the entire family. If not this year, then next for sure.

I would definitely repot in the biggest pot you can find. The sooner the better.
