![]() I got a banana dwarf nathan over a year old and has never fruited (ive read its usually only takes like 9-12 months?)
I’ve recently removed some extra pups with a shovel and knife and fertilised it a week later in hopes to encourage it to fruit but now its starting to turn yellow and it is wilting a lot in sun. It usually unwilts a bit in afternoon but it isnt as lively as use to be. Do you guys think itll recover / tell me what i can do to help? Photo of it in afternoon/early morning: Last edited by Zack2453 : 02-11-2023 at 11:21 PM. Reason: Fixed |

![]() Banana trees can take more then a year to fruit, it all depends on a lot of variables,
make sure the plant gets full sun, keep the soil moisture and make sure your not over-fetilizing since you are growing in a container, also the container seems small in the photos this can make the plant grow slower since it dosent have enough space for the roots, also my banana trees wilt there leaf when there is a lot of heat, they usually bounce back once the tempeture drops a little. Overall your tree looks healthy just its not liking the small pot, that my two cents lol

![]() The leaves usually do fold like that in extreme heat to retain as much moisture as possible. As long as they’re going back to normal once it cools down/evenings you should be ok. I noticed that the pot you are using is black which will absorb lots of heat making your soil/roots get really hot, roots don’t really like to get excessively hot. You could try getting a lighter colored pot to reflect more heat. Also maybe try mulching the top of the soil to retain more and keep the soil temps down a little bit too.
