I have 2 pots currently with cavendish in them. I know I need to separate the pups into more pots however, for an area 5x3-4ish, what/how much lighting do I need for them to continue to grow thru the winter indoors? They are in front of my sliding glass door with Low-E film. I have made an adjustable stand for the lights but confused on what to get. My tallest is about 36”. I have watched numerous YT videos.😜 Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you really only need it on in the morning and evening to extend the photoperiod so almost any light will work

a cfl or two... or a single 4 foot T5 with 6500K bulb($45CAD here) would be my recommendation

Great looking plants..
No way to soften the blow.......LOW e means exactly what it says
Nothing behind this glass will not fade ,chip, dent,and will last forever.

Youtube does have the best advice.....
Me ......I grow behind this barrier....but with supplemental lighting.

If your serious and want to continue to grow 25 bucks worth of plants...that will never give you an edible fruit , an internet search will help with new key words.

New key words to use are "growing cannibis in a 6x6 area"

I am(have been) in the same predicament.....

The two forum members in the previous posts are great resources (just look at their posts) for indoor grow and holding over of your plants in a dormant climate......


Low E is awesome.....I have it and love it....but plants do not fair well after a prolonged period.

Are you saying the dwarf cavendish will not produce fruit? I am trying to get it to produce inside, hence my lighting question.

If using a grow light, be certain it's not "barely there." You'll have to spend more money, but you need one that is as bright as daylight and can hang from the ceiling for your plants. Otherwise, they'll "leg up," and get really spindly, especially if growing veggies. I have mine on a timer and start it an hour before daylight and a few hours after, as I have little direct sun. Winter sun is also less bright and strong, so I'd recommend running the light all day to boost the natural weak light. Keep it on for 16-18 hours to mimic summer cycles, and make sure you have at least 6 hours of darkness. Plants need the dark, just like we do.
