grow light configuration

I am goint to try using T5HO bulbs for the first time.
However, I am pretty clueless as to what distance from the plants I should be using.
And how close is too close? My set up does not allow for easy height adjustments, so it would be great if I figured this out before putting everything in place. Which I need to do ASAP ;)

Fixture is 2 bulbs : 54W , 6500K

I am growing naners (of course), but also other tropicals:
coleus
elephant ears
hibiscus
etc
So I am wondering if different plants will want more/less of the T5HO lighting.

Re: grow light configuration

Start at 1 meter above the bananas. The others can be lower since in nature they are substory plants.

Fluorescents don't get hot enough to burn the plants, anyway, so they can grow right into the lights without causing damage.
