grow lamps and
just wondering about how many watts do i need for a medium sized chinese yellow i got a 120w and a 65w blue lamps about a foot and a half above it right now i leave the lamp on 24/7 and it is growing like mad about 4 new leaves a week on the plant theres like 15 suckers in the matt also should i try fertilizing or wait till spring i got a bermese blue, african red and royal purple in small pots around it but they dont do nothing there r just pstems there green and hard but nothing i have had them for like three months and nothing my velutina did the same but the stem rotted off at ground level couple wks after i got it and now the corm just started climbing out of the ground and is about 2 inches high and it looks like a tiny leaf is gonna uncurl why dont the others do anything any suggestions also do these ornamentals get invasive fast and about how long does it take to produce a large clump

As to the growth issues, I would say that once spring gets there, they will take off for you. Fertilizing should be done when they are growing, not right now. The mat you described with 15 suckers might need some thinning out. You may want to consider separating all but 3 or 4 from the mother corm. Pot them up and sell them or plant on their own as they are just taking energy from the mother. Once they have room to grow and fertilizer, sunshine and sunlight, you should have a nice mat this summer. |

Running the lights 24/7? Well I would change it to 18 hours on 6 hours off. If the temp is good in the room and the one is showing a lot of growth when not give it a little boost. The ones that are not moving right now I would not give them any Fert's until they are pushing out 1 new leaf a week and are a decent size.
