Does this seem legit?

Surfing the web and came across a QVC Gran Nain growing in a container.

Plants are in a pot that appears to be about 18 inches tall, on a dolly, and their total height including leaves are maybe 6 1/2 feet.

Several bananas hands visible, and the claim is from planting pups 6-12 months total...but some as long as 18 months.

So I guess I have a few questions on this.
Will Gran Nains stay that small because they are in a container?
Is that time frame possible?

Thanks in advance, edge.

PS These are no longer available, so I am asking the questions generally about Gran Nain :)

Wow, I only watched the first couple minutes, but its total BS. Grand Nain is not particularly quick, in fact nowhere near the quickest, and is not a good choice for container growth. The plant they show with fruits are fake fruits. Having them crowded so dense like that might look good on TV for slinging snake oil, but is terrible for trying to actually get fruit.

If you are starting with a small tissue cultured plant as they show, under ideal conditions in the tropics it still takes about 12 months. In a container in temperate areas as a permanent or partial house plant, expect 2-3years, if at all.

Thanks, I thought the only advantage to TC was that it was a clone of the mother plant. Is there more than meets the eye ?

Thanks, I guess the old adage is normally true, if it looks too good to be true, it probably is :)

I'll store this one with my Nigerian email inheritance, and lottery winnings!
