Disease?!
 

Got a cavendish from a local nursery. It was my strongest banana(all in containers atm). Shot out four pups, and then proceeded to snap at the base. I thought it was maybe root rot. Didn’t have time to mess with it then so I just moved it away from the other plants. The next day when I came home from work, there was a white moldy looking substance on the exposed corn with flies all around.

Anyone know what that could be?

have you been watering heavily?
i only ask because in the thread linked below a plant snapped off at the base after heavy rainfall
