Re: Containers: width vs height?
All my Nanas are in raised boxes, next Spring Ill add some large rocks for and enclosure for some. This is the most shallow this year at 8 inches, but the plant has done quite well.

Same species as above..as Was told a Mysore..had main plant and couple pups from past 3 years. This box was just thrown together with cheap fence posts if I recall.

Re: Containers: width vs height?
Hi, all of my current boxes do not have bottoms. I know one or two from last year did, however when I touched up a few for this years planting, I believe I used the bottoms for another project. I dont recall any difference in growth with or wout the bottoms. However, it is alot easier to lift up and flip with no bottom to move dirt and box around when end of season approaches. I have a couple if the Box store whiskey half barells with the bottom that I really like with bottoms. |

Re: Containers: width vs height?
Thanks! This trianle piece was a section of a raised garden bed from a big box store. The other 4ft section Im housing some pups I put in grow up a bit. That truangle gave me a couple ideas for next years planting. I Have my Vente in the opposite corner protected by an orinico to block sun and wind. .this has really helped the plant thrive!
This box was about $20 to make If I recall. Nothing fancy, but I had some wood left over from another project that blended in well. Winter I plan on making some more box planters, for side yard and back fence line. This Namwh seemed to like it as it grew alot in a few months. Last edited by gmichael403 : 09-10-2018 at 02:13 AM.
