Default California Gold fruiting after TWO years!

After two years, the California Gold that my husband bought for me for our anniversary two years ago put out a flag leaf on the 10th, then promptly put out the flower bud less than a week later! It is on a large, second-floor balcony. I was almost starting to think that I was crazy to think that I could actually grow them in containers and get them to be fruitful.

Keep plugging away. We can all do this.

I don't know if I've used the gallery feature properly--give me the attachment feature any day. Here is the link, I think:

Pinwheel Re: California Gold fruiting after TWO years!

The link to the bud picture is posted a few posts back. It now has little nanners on it, but I broke my leg a few days ago and haven't been able to take more pictures yet. And it's still making more. I don't know how long they keep flowering, but it has already been three weeks and I can still see another eight or nine petals that haven't come up yet, so I hope I can keep it going for another month or two.
