Default Bye, bye Basjoo?

Hi all,
Last year I bought a Basjoo and a red Abyssinian to grow in pots outside in the Summer.
I dutifully brought them in and stored them in their pots in a cool dark place for the Winter.
Three weeks ago, I brought them upstairs, gave them a good watering, and put them in a sunny window. The red took off and already has a full new leaf. The Basjoo looks to be slowly drying out from the top down. I took it out of the sunny window and placed it where it would get less intense sunshine. That doesn't seem to be helping.

I would love to hear suggestions from the experienced growers here on how I should proceed.

Thanks in advance.

Many times plants will pull back to the soil level over the winter this might be the case.

If you do not see any activity pull the plant and inspect it.
