Default Basjoo - Got rid of mites - now have scales

If it's not one thing it's another. Got rid of my mites but now have scales. Right along the ribs and "veins".

I'm using soapy water right now. Any better suggestions? No poison please.

Rubbing alcohol does wonders - you soak a cotton swab or cotton ball, rub it over the scales, and they pop right off. You have to do this a couple of times to get all the hatchlings, but it's worth it. They don't come back.

As a preventative, I've always liked the liquid extract of Pyrethrum chrysanthemums (sold as Pyrethrum or Pyrethron, usually) - just spray it on and it actually prevents bugs from attacking the plants. It's organic and completely nontoxic to you, your pets, and your plants - it just kills bugs dead.
